Impala II made a successful defense of the Eric Shirley Shield with a 19-11 win over Kabras II at the Nairobi Railway Club on Saturday 7 May 2016.
Jimmy Odong put the Kabrasians ahead with an early penalty but Impala took the lead courtesy of a penalty try, Quinto Ongo converting for a 7-3 score.
Ongo would then convert Mark Kwemoi’s try, the Sarries reserves leading 14-3 at this point but Odong kept Kabras in touch, adding three more points from the tee before Ongo landed a try to give Impala a 19-6 lead at the interval.
Kabras would score an unconverted try in the second half, their efforts all in vain as Impala II held out for the win.
The Catholic Monks defeated USIU 15-7 to claim the Nationwide league title.
