Kabras Sugar RFC lifted the 2019 Enterprise Cup trophy on Saturday 25th May at the RFUEA Grounds after completely shutting out the Resolution Impala Saracens with a 37-7 win.
Kabras were first with two quick tries through Paul Abuto and eventual man of the match Philip Wokorach with Wokorach adding the extras. A repeated offense by Impala in a Kabras scrum resulted in the center referee awarding a penalty try to the Sugar Millers. Scores reading 21-00 at the breather.
Come second half, a infringement by the Sarries saw Jone Kubu drill in a penalty kick for Kabras extending their lead to 24-00. A spirited Impala’s journey towards the opponents try box was cut short after Brian Juma’s intercept in their own 22 saw him sprint down the 60m to land a center post try with Wokorach adding the twos. Joseph Odero was next on the scoreboard extending his side’s lead with the fifth try, Kubu adding the twos for a 29-00 lead.
Resolution Impala Saracens finally got a score on the board after Saul Kivumbi landed a pushover try, Quinto Ongo adding the twos. Scores read 29-7 but a few moments before the referee called it full time, Philip Wokorach snuck in a drop goal bringing Kabras’ total tally to 37-7.
This is Kabras’s second fifteens silverware having won the Kenya Cup trophy back in 2016, incidentally, they had beaten the Resolution Impala Saracens 22-5 at the Impala Grounds.
Kabras also won the Mwamba Cup title after out outsmarting the Strathmore Leos in the 1:30pm kick off match beating them 40-27.
