Buoyed by their home crowd, Kisumu displayed a masterclass in both attack and defense, securing a crucial bonus-point victory. The Pirates struggled to penetrate Kisumu’s solid defensive line, managing only three penalties as the lakeside team celebrated their first triumph of the season.
Elsewhere, the Kenya Harlequins triumphed over rivals Impala RFC in the Ngong Road Derby, cruising to a 48-12 victory in a match that underlined Quins’ resurgence. Nondescripts continued their steady march up the table with a 23-3 win over Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad. Menengai Oilers maintained their strong form, defeating Nakuru RFC 34-15 in the Nakuru derby. KCB Rugby proved too powerful for Mwamba RFC, running riot in an 80-22 demolition. Kabras Sugar’s dominance remained unchallenged as they thrashed Strathmore Leos 45-5 at the Strathmore Sports Complex.
