Champions Kabras Sugar consolidated third place on the Kenya Cup log, overcoming a determined Strathmore Leos 38-17 at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday 18 February.
The visitors went ahead through Teddy Agutu’s unconverted try but Philip Wokorach’s two penalties gave the hosts a 6-5 lead before Jone Kubu’s try saw Kabras take an 11-5 lead into the break.
A Jone Kubu drop goal after the restart saw Kabras extend their lead, Max Adaka then land his team’s second try of the afternoon, Wokorach sure with the conversion.
The Leos would land two tries through Maurice Otieno with Agutu landing his brace as Ian Lumwaji could only manage a conversion as his team came to within four points of Kabras.
Wokorach then convert tries from Peter Nakarawa and Felix Ayange in between drilling home a penalty to confirm the result.
