Rugby action in Central region enters week six as leaders Kiambu head to Embu Univeraity to meet third placed Embu RFC. The two are separated by four points with Kiambu registering 24 points against Embu’s 20. The former boasts of a five-week unbeaten streak so far while Embu has suffered one loss in their five outings.
The second unbeaten side in this region is the JKUAT Cougars who picked up a total 23 from three bonus point wins and two wins without the bonus point. JKUAT will make the short trip to Thika town to face fourth placed MKU Thika as the heat in the top four intensifies. The hosts have registered three wins bonus point wins and two losses bringing their tally to 15 after week five.
At the bottom of the table, sixth placed Zetech University heads out to face the seventh placed Meru RFC. Both sides will be out to secure their third win of the season seeing as Zetech have won two matches, suffered two losses while one match ended in a draw. Meru on the other hand have won two matches and lost three, a performance that places them five points behind Zetech.
At the Murang’a University, Murang’a RFC welcomes Nanyuki Jackals in a match pitting the 9th placed side against the 8th placed team respectively. Murang’a are yet to register a win while Nanyuki Jackals have so far secured one win while suffering four losses.
Thika RFC are unable to honour Saturday’s fixture against Chuka thus Chuka will benefit from the walkover.
