Nakuru went ahead through Victor Shigholi’s 12th minute try, Allan Odiyo converting to see his side take a 7-0 lead.
Homeboyz would attempt to take the game to their opponents but were dominated in the forwards by a Nakuru side that soon regained possession and taking, eventually scoring a second try through David Kivuti, Odiyo adding the extras to bring the scores to 14-0.
They ease off the pace, their concentration and discipline dipping, conceding a penalty that Kelvin Masai duly dispatched between the sticks from 40 meters out for Homeboyz’ first points, the scores now 14-3. Odiyo would respond in kind with a penalty on the stroke of halftime to give Nakuru a 17-3 lead at the break.
Mike Shioso scored Nakuru’s third try of the match to make it 22-3 before Max Kang’eri handed the deejays a lifeline, his try bring the scores to 22-8. Nakuru would be reduced to 14 men after Coleman Were was red carded by Constant Cap but they still put points on the board, Odiyo slotting home a penalty before Nelson Oyoo raced clear to score his side’s fourth try and seal the result that set up a semi final date against champions KCB.
