It has been a not so sweet season thus far for Kabras Sugar, things taking a a sour turn by way of their current league position vis a vis their pre season acquisitions and ambitions. The sugar men face another stern test in the form of Pan Africa Strathmore Leos at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday 23 January.
Kabras need a win, they must win. The more they fail to garner results and points, the farther away their playoff hopes and title hopes slip away. Mike Bishop’s charges will look to cast away the demons from last week’s horror show that saw them let slip a 20-8 lead, falling 28-29 to Menengai Cream Homeboyz. The Leos returned to action last weekend with a 62-0 blitz of Blak Blad and head to Kakamega obviously wary of the expected backlash from Kabras but quietly optimistic, more so given their 20-19 pre-season win over the Kabrasians.
It should be an entertaining clash, Kabras relying on Jone Kubu, Jasper Onen, Hilary Mwanjilwa and Steve Oluoch to orchestrate a sweet outcome while the Leos have in their ranks the likes of Brian Nyikuli, Adrian Opondo, Humphrey Owuor and Mike Wanjala to counter the Kabras offensive.
