The Kenya Cup’s basement clubs Kenya Sharks and Thika will face off in the day’s early kick off at the Nakuru Athletic Club on Saturday 20 February 2016.
These two sides were promoted to the top tier after exemplary performances in the second tier Nationwide league but have found life in the top tier difficult.
Both sides are winless after 11 rounds, Thika fortuitous to gather a bonus point in the 0-5 loss to Blak Blad earlier in the campaign while the Sharks have found the tide in the Kenya Cup ocean quite high and the currents a tad too strong. The Sharks have been out of their depth.
These sides met in the Nationwide League final, Thika running off with the 13-11 result over the Sharks. That may have been 11 months ago but that result could be a pointer towards the course and outcome of Saturday’s clash, close.
