Resolution Impala Saracens overcame a dogged Blak Blad to post a 33-18 win in the early kickoff on Kenya Cup match day two.
Eric Kerreh opened the scoring, touching down after 11 minutes of play, Quinto Ongo adding the extras as the Sarries went 7-0 up.
Blad would survive moments of sustained Sarries pressure, getting their first points on the board when Bravin Mukoro went over from a rolling maul before Levy Amunga’s penalty saw them lead the Sarries 8-7 after 19 minutes of play.
The Sarries would soon retake the lead, Ongo converting Nyando Nyandigisi’s try before adding another conversion after Kerreh had reacted quickest from the lineout, turning on the style to land his brace for a 21-8 lead after 27 minutes.
The final 13 minutes of this half were all Blad,( probably even blad-y)Amunga first drilling home a penalty to bring the score to 21-11 before converting Franz Obudo’s try for a 21-18 score at the interval.
Nato Simiyu would land the Sarries bonus point try nine minutes into the second half but Blad just refused to go away, soaking in the pressure and prodding the Sarries whenever the opportunity presented itself.
The Sarries would survive high Blad pressure in the closing moments, George Okowa scoring an converting his try for a 33-18 lead, a lead that they held to the end.
