Strathmore Leos will be out to extend their lead atop the KRU Championship when they play host to visiting Kisii RFC in a match day eight fixture at their Madaraka home venue. The Leos, relegated from last season’s Kenya Cup after an uninterrupted 11 year stint have won all their seven outings to date and on 33 points, are eight clear of second placed Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology who are on 25 points. Kisii are currently placed bottom of the 12 team league after their seven fixtures to date.
Championship debutants Northern Suburbs came close to upsetting the USIU Maritals last weekend, leading for large spells of that fixture before going down 22-18 to the Martials. The fourth placed side once again come under scrutiny this weekend when they host MMUST at the Catholic University in Karen. MMUST come into this match seeking to bounce back from their first loss of the season, that 19-10 home loss to Strathmore last weekend in Kakamega.
Third placed Mean Machine host seventh placed University of Eldoret Trojans at the University of Nairobi with sixth placed USIU head to the South Coast to face home team South Coast Pirates in Ukunda.
Mombasa will be at home to Eldoret at the Mombasa Sports Club with Catholic Monks primed to face Egerton Wasps in the early kickoff at the Catholic University.
