Menengai Cream Homeboyz left it late against Mean Machine, going forth to conquer a stubborn Mean Machine by breaking away to post a 27-7 result that lifted them to fourth place on the log.
Homeboyz had to contend with dogged determination from Machine who tackled as if their lives depended on it. The varsity lads would time and again disrupt the deejay’s rhythm,Felix Ojow’s unconverted try the only telling feature of the first half.
Bernard Rotich would again breach the Machine rearguard with a second try for Homeboyz after the restart, the scores 10-0 with Machine very much in the game.
Kevin Otieno would score a gem of try for the students, slicing through Homeboyz defenders before touching down and converting his effort for a 10-7 score.
It would remain this until the fifty seventh minute when Daniel Abuonji made the most of Leonard Mugaisi’s delivery to score for the deejays, Kelvin Masai adding the extras for a 17-7 score. Further tries from Alvin Otieno and Joshua Chisanga killed off the tie.
