Menengai Cream Homeboyz get the new league season underway when they host the Strathmore Leos in the early kickoff at the Impala Club on Saturday.
These two sides last met in the pre-season Impala Floodlit tournament, the deejays topping the students 22-18 to lift the plate title on Saturday 15 October and will be out to start the new campaign on a high.
Both sides continued their pre-season build up with friendly fixtures last weekend, the deejays falling to a 38-26 defeat to Kenya Harlequin in Nairobi while the Leos were beaten 28-7 by Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar in Kakamega.
The onus is on both sides to start the season on a high and sustain that momentum into the playoffs, a fact that both sides are aware of.
When these sides last met in Kenya Cup action on Saturday 27 February 2016, the Leos pulled off a 26-25 win over the deejays. A lot of water has since passed under the bridge, the Leos minus close to twelve of the squad that posted that result but they will certainly fancy themselves to take the fight to a Homeboyz side who made the playoffs for the first time last season.
This match kicks off at 2.00pm
