Homeboyz returned to winning ways with a 25-17 result against Western Bulls in a match day three fixture played at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday 22 November 2014.
Harun Lubisia put the deejays ahead with a penalty on three minutes but Emmanuel Owade soon cancelled that out, landing three minutes later with Brian Watson converting for a 7-3 Bulls lead.
Lubisia replied with another penalty four minutes later, cutting the deficit to 7-6 as the side from Kakamega dominated their hosts in the break down and contact areas.
Eliab Baraza would extend the lead, intercepting a loose Max Kang’eri pass, racing cleat to score under the posts, Watson converting for a 14-6 lead but Alvin Otieno’s try for Homeboyz cut the deficit to 14-11 at the break.
The deejays were a transformed side in the second half, Oscar Ayodi beating the gain line with Kelvin Masai, who had a torrid game at scrum half, grounding the ball before being substituted for Michael Wanjala. Lubisia converted to put Homeboyz 18-14 up.
Solomon Obiero would score a penalty to keep the Bulls in contention but when man of the match Bush Mwale scored a converted try for Homeboyz, the match was over, the result ending Bulls unbeaten start to the season.
