Resolution Impala Saracens registered their first win of the season, albeit in authoritative fashion, spinning the rhythm off of Homeboyz in a 45-7 home win on Friday evening. The result sees Impala top the Kenya Cup standings ahead of Saturday’s fixtures.

This match, the first Friday night fixture of the new Kenya Cup season was dominated by Impala from gun to tape, the hosts looking imperious with ball in hand, ruling the break down and contact areas with military precision.

They would go ahead when full back Sammy Oliech grounded Nato Simiyu’s inquisitive punt after a period of sustained pressure. Oliech would add a penalty, extending the hosts lead to 8-0 before converting Anthony Nyandigisi’s try to see them lead 15-0 at the interval.

Felix Ojow would touch down for the deejays after the break, Michael Wanjala converting to bring the scores to 15-7 but an Oliech penalty and Quinto Ongo’s unconverted try saw Impala go 23-7 up.

Nyandigisi would soon land his brace taking the scores to 28-7 before tries from Oliech, Lameck Dunde and Joel Omer’s try which was converted by George Okowa sealed the result.
