Kenya Cup match day 17 served its fair share of surprises as Kenya Harlequin returned to the top of the table with an expected 91-6 home win over bottom of the table Kenya Sharks at the RFUEA Ground on Saturday 2 April 2016.
While Quins were pummeling the Sharks, Resolution Impala Saracens, Top Fry Nakuru and KCB all flipped the script as they each snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, the Sarries were busy dropping to second after conceding four tries in the 13-25 loss away to Kabras Sugar while Nakuru and KCB were unable to cope with the murky, muddy and slippery conditions at Madaraka, Nakuru going down 10-15 to hosts Pan Africa Strathmore Leos while KCB’s Lions were given a rocky time by a Mwamba side that caged them 7-13.
Elsewhere, Nondescripts played to a 7-7 draw against a Blak Blad side that is rapidly emerging as their bogey side while Western Bulls, with their playoff ambitions long extinguished, posted a feel good 48-0 win over third from bottom Thika RFC as Menengai Cream Homeboyz defeated Mean Machine 39-0.
