Defending champions Kabras Sugar and KCB will renew their rivalry when they face off in the Enterprise Cup final on Saturday 9 April 2022.
The two sides emerged from their semifinals in contrasting fashion, Kabras cruising to a 37-11 win over 2018 champions Homeboyz at the ASK Showground in Kakamega.
Kabras took a 9-3 lead into the interval courtesy of three Ntabeni Dukisa penalties while Brian Ayimba managed one for Homeboyz.
Dukisa then converted Habil Malika’s try for a 16-3 lead before Keith Wasike’s unconverted try for the deejays brought the scores to 16-8.
Another Ayimba penalty brought the score to 16-11 before Dukisa converted tries from Geoffrey Meso, Edwin Oyoo and William Opaka to confirm the result as Kabras kept their eyes on the league and cup double.
Over at the Impala Club, KCB were made to fight for the 20-18 result over Impala Saracens in a cliffhanger of a semifinal.
Smith Muhoya and Quinto Ongo traded a brace of penalties as the two sides went into the interval tied 6-6.
Muhoya then converted Peter Waitere’s try for a 13-6 lead but Impala were still in it, Bill Arigi barging over with Ongo converting to restore parity, the game finely poised at 13-13.
Replacement flyhalf Shaban Ahmed then converted Elphas Adunga’s try for a 20-13 KCB lead before Paul Mutsami’s unconverted try brought the hosts to within two points of the bankers who barely held out for the result.
Topfry Nakuru II and Strathmore Leos II will contest the Mwamba Cup final after earning walkovers againsts Kabras Sugar II and KCB II.
