Fourth placed Kabras Sugar host seventh placed Homeboyz in Kakamega on Saturday 7 February.
The struggle is real for both sides who, alongside Mwamba and Resolution Impala Saracens are in the race for the last semifinal playoff spot available.
After coasting to six wins on the trot, Kabras have hit turbulence on the home stretch, two successive losses (16-18 against Total Nondies and 17-22 against Mwamba) loosening their grip on fourth place with the chasing pack tearing down on them.
With this in mind, they simply cannot ignore the significance of winning if they are to keep their dream of reaching the playoffs in their maiden Kenya Cup season alive.
The deejays too are coming off a two match losing streak (5-41 against KCB and 12-15 against Top Fry Nakuru). They have put in some Jekyll and Hyde performances, blowing hot and cold but somehow still in with a long shot of reaching the playoff.
Both sides are expected to announce their match day squads on Friday.
