Leading 12-0 at half time, KCB stayed unbeaten with a 22-17 win over champions Kabras Sugar at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka.
Davis Chenge landed the banker’s opening try,Oliver Mang’eni adding the second with Darwin Mukidza converting as KCB dominated the champions, keeping Kabras at bay, prevailing in territorial and forward play.
Kabras responded after the interval, Felix Ayange’s unconverted effort bringing the scores to 12-5 and setting up the platform for an exciting 37 or minutes in the second half. Sava Racigi touched down with Philip Wokorach converting to tie the scores at 12-12.
Martin Owillah would break and score under the posts, Mukidza with the conversion to see the bankers go 19-12 ahead but the sugarmen kept in touch, Racigi once again landing off the rolling maul and ensuring a tense closing to this encounter. Mukidza would drill home a last gasp penalty to keep the bankers unbeaten.
