Champions KCB sailed to their fourth successive Enterprise Cup final since 2014 after beating Homeboyz RFC 11-9 in a match played at the Ruaraka grounds in 20th May. They will have to overcome Kabras Sugar at the RFUEA on Saturday 27 May 2017 if they are to claim a third successive title and complete the season’s double, having already claimed the Kenya Cup at this venue on 22 April.
It was Homeboyz, 33-24 winners over KCB in Kenya Cup action at this venue in February who took an early lead off a penalty by Evin Asena before Shaban Ahmed restored parity for KCB, the scores 3-3 and it would remain this way until the interval.
KCB began the second half with purpose, cleaning up from the breakdown and spreading it wide to James Kilonzo who score the game’s only try. Ahmed an Asena would trade penalties as KCB held a slim 8-6 lead over the deejays.
The game remained a close contest, the deejays taking the game to KCB but lacked the cutting edge. Ahmed and Asena would again trade penalties as the game ended 11-9 to KCB.
