KCB II defeated Strathmore II 15-10 to lift the Mwamba Cup II title on Saturday 27 May 2017 at the Impala Club. They led 12-10 at the interval with tries coming from Broddy Kaigai scoring first as the conversion sailed wide. Elly Mukaisi scored the second try with Esau Otieno booting in the extras.
Second half saw the KCB cubs defend for the better half of the 40 minutes; an infringement by Strathmore saw Esau boot in the three points for the bankers. The scoreboard would read 15-10 till the last minute. Strathmore set camp in the Bankers half in the last quarter of the second half but the defense was too strong to break.
Speaking to the side’s captain, Esau Otieno, he said applauds the team for the hardwork put in place and it has seen them win the trophy. The ESS loss was enough motivation for the side to bring their best foot forward in every match during the Mwamba Cup league.
