Defending champions KCB marched into the Impala Floodlit final with a 41-21 victory over Menengai Oilers in the first semifinal at the Impala Club on Saturday 21 October 2023.
The bankers were quick off the blocks, going ahead through Samuel Asati’s try, Darwin Mukidza sure with the conversion for a 7-0 lead. The evergreen Mukidza then drilled home a drop goal to put the bankers 10-0 up.
Menengai Oilers were second best for large spells of this half, and indeed went further behind when KCB scored twice through blindside flanker Felix Ojoo and winger Festus Shiasi. Mukidza stroked home the two conversions to see the defending champions take a 24-0 lead into the interval.

They began the second half just as they did the first, youngster Mike Wamalwa scoring their fourth try, Mukidza again sure with the extras to go 31-0 up before the Oilers were awarded a penalty try, the score 31-7 on sixty minutes.
Wamalwa then landed his brace, Mudikza adding this conversion and a penalty to put the bankers 41-7 up.
The Oilers responded with two consolation tries from Alvin Khavoli and Elkeans Musonye, Tony Oketch adding two conversions to put some respectability to the scoreline.
