Leading 31-5 at half time, KCB blew away Pan Africa Strathmore Leos 38-17 to stay top of the Kenya Cup after match day 11.
The bankers took the lead through Peter Karia’s 6th minute try, Darwin Mukidza converting for a 7-0 lead but the Leos cut the deficit through Marvin Sumba’s unconverted try, the scores reading 7-5 after 11 minutes.
Curtis Lilako touched down from a rolling maul, Mukidza adding the extras as KCB led 14-5 before Mukidza landed his first try of the afternoon, finishing off a Ken Moseti inspired move to see the bankers go 19-5 up.
Allan Omuka would inflict further pain on the Leos, going over to stretch the bankers lead to 24-5 before Mukidza converted man of the match Lilako’s brace to give the Lions a 31-5 half time lead.
Strathmore came out guns blazing on the restart, Cyprian Kuto landing to cut the deficit to 31-10 before punishing Mukidza’s indecision to land his brace, Sumba converting to bring the scores to 31-17.
Lilako would land his hat trick, Mukidza converting for the 38-17 full time score.
