Leaders KCB and defending champions Top Fry Nakuru are locked in a two way race for Kenya Cup pole position, and with it the hosting rights for the semifinal playoffs on Saturday 7 March.
Under an arrangement introduced by Kenya Cup clubs at the start of this season, the team finishing top of the log at the close of the regular season hosts the semis and as matters stands, the two sides are tied on 53 points, both posting 11 wins from 11 outings. With KCB just shading Nakuru with a superior for/against difference.
They will face off at the Nakuru Athletic Club on Saturday 21 February in a fixture that is very likely to determine who tops the table.
Pan Africa Strathmore Leos are their closest opposition, lying third on 45 points coming off 9 wins and 2 defeats and barring a series of shock results for KCB and Nakuru, cannot finish the regular season in a higher position.
