KENYA CUP LEAGUE AND FIXTURES COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES DECISIONS ON MATCH ABANDONMENTS

The League and Fixtures Organizing Committee of the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has made key rulings regarding the outcomes of recent matches that were abandoned before full time. These decisions are based on KRU regulations, concerning match abandonment.

LFC DECISIONS
  1. South Coast Pirates vs Nakuru RFC
    • The result at the time of match abandonment will stand.
    • Final Score: 17-0 in favor of South Coast Pirates.
    • Decision based on KRU Regulations 13.6.4.6(b)(ii) – Match Abandonment.
  2. MMUST vs Daystar Falcons
    • The result at the time of match abandonment will stand.
    • Final Score: 18-13 in favor of MMUST.
    • Decision based on KRU Regulations 13.6.4.6(a)(ii-iii) – Match Abandonment.
  3. Ngong Warriors vs Stingerz RFC
    • The match has been rescheduled and will be replayed on 22nd March 2025.
    • Hosting costs will be shared equally between both teams, with each covering their own transport expenses.
Additionally, 
The following matches were affected by violations of KRU Regulations:
  • Kilifi Rugby vs KCNP (25th January, 2025)
  • NYS Eagles vs Jackals (25th January, 2025)
  • Busia Borderrucks vs Kibabii University (25th January, 2025)
Regulatory breaches:
  • 13.6.4.4 – Delays in kick-off times
  • 13.6.4.6(b)(ii) – Match Abandonment
  • 8.3(a-c) – Player Safety
Precedent rulings will apply, awarding full points to the aggrieved teams, while the culpable teams will receive a two-point deduction.

Teams wishing to appeal these decisions may do so in accordance with KRU Regulations.
