A 29-10 home win over Homeboyz saw KCB go top of the Kenya Cup log after match day three action at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka.
Darwin Mukidza scored and converted for a 7-0 lead before Brian Juma drilled home a penalty for Homeboyz, the first points KCB have conceded this season as the scores read 7-3.
He would then convert Zedden Marrow’s try for a 10-7 lead for the deejays before Curtis Lilako touched down, Mukidza converting as the bankers led 14-10 at the interval.
Second half tries from Martin Owilah, Andrew Amonde and Brian Wahinya secured the win for the bankers.
Defending champions Kabras Sugar moved to second with a hard fought 27-12 win against Kenya Harlequin at the Kakamega Showground.
Lucky Dewald scored converted for a 7-0 Quins lead before Ntabeni Dukisa responded with a penalty to cut the deficit to 7-3.
Tries from Bryceson Adaka and Ephraim Oduor took Kabras 13-7 up before Quins responded with a try on the stroke of half time for a 13-12 score.
Dukisa would convert second half tries from Brian Tanga and Adaka to confirm the result.
Menengai Oilers slipped to third despite winning their third match on the trot, Masinde Muliro denying them a bonus point in the 26-10 result at the Nakuru Showground.
Nakuru registered their first win of the campaign, defeating Strathmore Leos 26-12 at the Nakuru Athletic Club while Mwamba ended Blak Blad’s unbeaten run with a 19-10 victory at Madaraka.
Catholic Monks and Mean Machine shared the spoils in a 17-17 draw at the Catholic University.
