Curtains fall on the calendar year with Kenya Cup match day four action across six venues in Nairobi, Nakuru and Kakamega.

The all varsity clash at Kenyatta University will be definitely worth looking out for when two wounded sides, Blak Blad and Strathmore Leos face off.

Hosts Blak Blad’s unbeaten record was broken last weekend in the 19-10 loss away to Mwamba while Strathmore Leos, uncharacteristically lost a second game on the bounce and Head Coach Louis Kisia will be out to stop the slump. His Blad counterpart, Motto Williams, certainly has other ideas.  There is everything to play for in this fixture.

Lurambi Derby

The Kakamega derby sees Masinde Muliro host defending champions Kabras Sugar. The varsity students who currently sit second from bottom are yet to taste victory this season and the task doesn’t get any easier against their more illustrious opponents who currently sit second, having notched three wins from three outings.

Bottom of the table Kenya Harlequin are at home to Mean Machine, who currently sit third from bottom. This fixture serves up an opportunity for Quins to notch up their first win of the campaign. They have put up the fight in their past three outings and will be keen to come out of this encounter with something tangible against the University of Nairobi side.

Mwamba are at home to the Catholic Monks, looking to win a second match on the bounce and will have to contend with a spirited Monks side who are still looking for their first win of the season.

Homeboyz had their unbeaten record broken last weekend but they were certainly not embarrassed in the defeat away to KCB. They shall look at the positives from that encounter as they plot to deny third placed Menengai Oilers victory. Oilers will look to their quality and current form to overcome the stubborn proposition that is Homeboyz.

Over in Nakuru, home side Nakuru RFC shall be out to build on last weekend’s 26-12 win over Strathmore and claiming KCB’s scalp would be just what the Wanyore need heading into the Christmas break. KCB on the other hand will be keen to retain league leadership and the momentum by winning in the Central Rift Valley.
