Contrary to an article in The Sunday Nation dated 10 April 2016 that gives the impression that the Kenya Cup playoffs will feature four teams, this year’s Kenya Cup Top Six playoffs will feature six teams. This is a break from the traditional four teams who would complete in direct semifinals with the winners proceeding to the championship match.
The teams that finish first and second on the log earn the right to play their semifinals set at their respective home venues on Saturday 30 April. The teams in positions three,four,five and six meet on Saturday 23 April 2016 for the right to play in the semifinals against the teams in position one and two at the close of the league phase.
Playoffs – 3 v 6, 4 v 5 – 23rd April
Semi Finals – 30th April
Final – 7th May
