The KRU Championship breaks for the festive season with Strathmore Leos leading the pack firmly at the top after collecting nine wins in the nine-match days.
They beat the University of Eldoret Trojans 52-13 in the first match of the Eldoret doubleheader before Eldoret RFC took to the pitch beating Catholic Monks 39-21. Kisii bagged their second win of the season at home beating the Northern Suburbs by a close 11-10 fulltime score in Gusii while Masinde Muliro’s 51-9 win over South Coast Pirates was enough to cement their second-place position on the Championship log.
Two fixtures pitting USIU against Mombasa RFC and Egerton Wasps against Mean Machine were postponed to 2020.
In the Nationwide League Western Region, MMUST II, Webuye, Vihiga Granites and JOOUST all benefited from walkovers as their opponents Sheywe, Siaya, Mbale and Bungoma were unable to honor the fixtures. The encounter between Maseno University and Citam Kisumu was postponed to a later date.
The Nationwide Nairobi Region Clubs action saw Shamas beat Swara 20-18, Stormers benefited from a walkover as Comras was unable to honor the fixture while the match pitting Ngong RFC against Vandals ended in a 3-3 stalemate at the RFUEA Grounds. The Masaku vs Stingers match was postponed to 1st February at the Machakos ASK.
