Action in the third tier KRU Nationwide League kicked off this past Saturday with fixtures across the Nairobi, Western, Coast, Rift Valley and Central regions.
There was a victory for Makueni in the Nairobi Clubs conference, defeating Swara 16-7. Ngong Warriors and Stingers benefitted from walkovers while the Stallions- Masaku and Comras-Stormers matches were postponed.
Machakos University pulled off a close 25-22 victory over NYS Spades in the Nairobi Universities Conference while PUEA edged out Cooperative University 16-13 as KCA Sparxx defeated TUK Mustangs 17-11.
AP Warriors and Multimedia received walkovers.
Over in the Western region, Kibabii were 46-13 winners over Kimobo Altitude Team as Shamberere pulled off a close 12-7 result over Mbale.
Busia Borderrucks were too strong for Bungoma, claiming the 53-0 win as Webuye edged Vihiga Granites 24-20.
Kisii were 26-0 winners over Maseno University as Rongo edged Kisii Kifaru 17-12. Homa Bay were awarded a walkover against CITAM Kisumu while the clash between Jaramogi University and Siaya was postponed.
There were wins for MKU Thika and Chuka in the Central region, MKU Thika defeating Muranga Trojans 31-10 as Chuka University stopped Embu 23-9. Kenya Prisions were awarded the walkover against Meru University while the clash between Meru and Kiambu was postponed.
Moi University edged Eldoret 3-0 in Rift Valley region action while newbies Project61 defeated Egerton Wasps 13-6. University of Kabianga and Kitale National Polytechnic received walkovers.
Mombasa II defeated Lukenya 33-5 in Coast region action.
