Three teams are still in with a chance of claiming the final Kenya Cup semifinal playoff berth as we head into match day twelve.
The gap in points between fourth placed Kabras Sugar (36 pts), fifth placed Mwamba (34pts) and sixth placed Resolution Impala Saracens (32pts) is an indication of how close the race for post season action in and it is very to be decided on the last day of the regular season.
In order to secure semifinal qualification, Kabras will need to register bonus point wins in each of their remaining two fixtures as this will give them an unassailable 46 pts.
Mwamba will require two bonus point wins while counting on Kabras to collect 7 or less points in their remaining two matches. This will see the black shirts end the season on 44 pts with Kabras managing 43 points. It will also render irrelevant any bonus point wins by Impala, as the most the Sarries can attain is 42 points.
It would take a total collapse of sorts by Mwamba and Kabras as well as two bonus point wins for Impala to secure fourth place.
These however, are just connotations and it will be interesting to see how the trio fare in their remaining two fixtures.
