The Menengai Oilers and Strathmore Leos match ended in a 19 all draw at the Nakuru Athletic Clubs. The first half saw the Leos register ten points from a penalty by Lucas Oppal, a Clinton Khasai try and a conversion by Andrew Matoka. Second half saw Oilers land three tries through Chrispine Shitundo, Emman Odwako and Clinton Odhiambo with Austine Sikutwa adding two conversions while Andrew Matoka drilled in three penalties for the Leos.
The second match at the NAC saw Leon Adongo dot down the DJz opening try with the conversion sailing wide. Homeboyz held on to the five-point lead for the better part of the first half but a last minute Nakuru try by Kevin Omiyo and a Martin Muita conversion handed them a 7-5 lead.
Early in the second half, Nakuru extended their lead to 10-5 after a Homeboyz infringement but the DJz were quick on their feet as they landed their second try and added the conversion for them to take the 12 -10 lead. Stanley Isogol was next on the scoreboard as he scored the DJz’ third try, Mohammed Omollo sure with his boot added the extras; Homeboyz extending the gap to 19-10.
Nakuru’s penalty kick and one unconverted try in the dying minutes of the match brought them one point short of the eventual winners. Full time scores reading 19-18 in favour of Homeboyz.
Stanbic Mwamba beat the Resolution Impala Saracens 20-16, Kenya Harlequins beat the Mean Machine 47-3 while KCB survived a Blakblad scare edging them out with a 20-15 win.
At the Jamhuri Grounds, Kabras cruised into their seventh unbeaten week as they hammered Nondies 41-5.
