KCB stayed top of the Kenya Cup with a hard fought 33-18 bonus point win over the Strathmore Leos at the KCB Sports Club on Saturday 21 January 2023.
They started brightly, racing into a 14-0 lead through tries from Bob Muhati and Darwin Mukidza who also added two conversions.
The lively Brunson Madigu scored for the Leos on the stroke of half time to bring the score to 14-5.
He would add two penalties and convert a try as the Leos went 18-14 up but tries from Brian Wahinya, Isaac Njoroge and Johnston Olindi supported by two Mukidza conversions sealed the win for the bankers.
Kabras Sugar were too strong for visiting Blak Blad, defeating them 67-3 at the Kakamega Showground.
Menengai Oilers inflicted further misery on Mwamba, stopping their visitors 53-15 at the Nakuru Showground.
Catholic Monks kept their survival hopes alive with a 20-13 victory over Masinde Muliro at CUEA as Kenya Harlequin stopped Homeboyz 28-11 at the RFUEA.
Nakuru posted their second win of the season,defeating hosts Mean Machine 37-8 at the University of Nairobi.
