Nondescript RFC have started their 2018/2019 Kenya Cup campaign remarkably as they have secure their second win beating KCB 27-22.
In a closely encountered match, Nondies landed five tries across KCB’s try line with one successfully converted while KCB managed to land three tries, two conversions and one penalty.
Fidel Oloo, Steven Odhiambo and Brian Sinei dotted down three tries for the Red Lions in the first half while KCB’s Oscar Sorano landed a brace in the first half with Stephen Osumba adding the conversions.
Second half, Osumba took KCB to a 17-15 lead with a penalty kick. Vincent Onyala landed the Bankers third try extending their lead to 22-14 as the conversion sailed wide. Steven Odhiambo’s brace and a Moses Begi conversion levelled up the scores to 22-22. In the 75th minutes, Odhiambo dotted down his hat trick and the try that sealed Nondies victory beating the defending champions 27-22.
Menengai Oilers handed Kenya Harlequins their first loss of the season. The newly promoted side beat Quins 14-8 at the ASK Nakuru Showgrounds while hosts Nakuru lost 22-26 to the Resolution Impala Saracens.
Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC bounced back to their winning ways as they beat hosts Mwamba RFC 22-18 at the Railways Club Nairobi while Kabras Sugar RFC beat Blakblad 37-10.
