Kenya Harlequin and Kabras Sugar meet for the third time in Kenya Cup action this season, Saturday’s match, pardon the cliché, a winner take it all affair.
Quins pulled off a last gasp 19-17 win when the two sides met in match day two action on Saturday 28 November 2015 but the Kabrasians avenged that in the return fixture, posting a comprehensive 41-17 win on Saturday 9 January 2016 in Kakamega.
Quins, by virtue of finishing second at the close of league play earned the right to host this clash and will look dominate this fixture, and Kabras from gun to tape as they look to reach the championship match on Saturday 7 May.
Kabras reached the semis with a 16-15 playoff at home to Top Fry Nakuru on Saturday 23 April 2016. They arrived in Nairobi on Thursday, keen to shake off the “bus lag” and plot to defeat Quins and return to the championship match for a second season in succession.
Captain Tony Mutai has led Quins from the front and is again expected to be an influential part of the encounter while Uganda’s Ron Musajja while be up against his former Kabras team mates.
Former Quins man Nick Barasa will also play a key role for the sugarmen.
