Mwamba RFC have confirmed the departure of utility back Shaban Ahmed who has moved to KCB during the recent mid season transfer window.
The versatile playmaker who, in recent seasons knocked on the doors of the national sevens set up joined Mwamba in 2011, breaking into the first team under former coach Meli Wainibuli two seasons later, pulling off a series of displays, most notably the hat trick performance in Mwamba’s 30-20 league win over Top Fry Nakuru during the 2013/14 season, a performance that had fans and pundits alike waxing lyrical about his exploits which shattered Nakuru’s unbeaten record that season.
His last appearance for Kulabu incidentally came against Nakuru, coming on as Victor Wayodi’s replacement in the 10-10 draw on Saturday 10 December 2016.
