Nakuru finally got their first win of the season after back to back losses in their opening two fixtures, defeating Strathmore Leos 26-12 in match day three action at the Nakuru Athletic Club on Saturday 10 December 2022.
For Head Coach Simon Wariuki, the win was as a result of the work the team put on during the week.
Speaking to the Daily Nation, the former Nakuru flyhalf said, “We managed to fix a few things that were not right in the course of the week and the results were evident. Our conversion rate improved with good execution inside our opponent’s 22 metres.”
The two time Kenya Cup champions scored their tries through Amos Obae who landed a brace with Philip Okeyo and Philip Owuor scoring a try each with Fredrick Odongo kicking over three conversions.
Brunson Madigu drilled home four penalties for Strathmore.
