The 2024/2025 Championship season is set to kick off on Saturday 16th November 2024.This season promises to offer high octane rugby as the league will feature twelve competitive teams,eight of which are university sides.Some of the big names include three time Kenya cup champions Mean Machine,former Kenya cup sides: Homeboyz ,Western Bulls ,MMUST and Catholic Monks.
Game week one will feature long time nemesis Mean Machine and MMUST take on each other at Masinde Muliro university.Last season Masinde Muliro got a walk over against Machine at The Workshop following some technichal difficulties on machine`s side.Machine are keen to win the game and begin the season on a high as MMUST are also determined to maintain their winning streak.
Another varsity derby will see Daystar Falcons take on USIU Martials.Daystar who narrowly missed out on promotion to Kenya Cup last season are determined to begin the season on a high note in order to keep their dream of playing in the Kenya cup alive.
