11th May 2019 is the day the top four KRU Championship teams will be facing off in search of their most important win of the current season. The win guarantees the two eventual finalists of a slot in the 2019/2020 Kenya Cup league.
Western Bulls and Kisumu have been in the Kenya Cup League before but since their relegation a few years back, they haven’t managed to bounce back to the big boys club. They will be facing their hosts USIU RFC and Catholic Monks respectively at 4:00pm.
The Nairobi based teams Catholic Monks and USIU RFC finished first and second respectively in the league while Kisumu and Western Bulls had to go through Masinde Muliro University and Regional Logistics Mombasa RFC in the playoffs. The Monks are hosting Kisumu RFC at the Catholic University of East Africa while Western Bulls head to Thika Road to meet USIU Africa.
Western Bulls and USIU had one meeting in the regular league season since they were not in the same pool. They met on 23rd February with the Bulls claiming the 13-6 win. Monks and Kisumu were also in different pools thus having one encounter during the league on 19th January when Monks emerged the 8-3 winners.
